Neverland - Landscape

Oil on canvas

2018 – 2019

In the early 2017, the artist’s father was diagnosed with a terminal colon cancer and became very ill. Those faces, crying, howling, white sheets, shrivelled bodies and the crowd as the artist witnessed in Tumour Hospital reminded him of The Procession to Calvary by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

Neverland - Landscape is a massive work in series dedicated to the artist’s father. An “after world landscape” with 41.2 meters in length, it integrates a dynamic theatre experience with fine arts, dreaming a magnificent dream in doomsday when walking in. The brushstrokes intertwine in black and white, as rampageous as a black hole of secrets, yet as gentle as a uterus of mother, pushing “Catastrophe and Humanity” to its limit.
