The cracks, folds, ripples and tree rings in the nature speak the passage of time and see through its existence. These traces are slowly crawling and changing, gently and firmly caressing everything around them. It tosses substances into the torrents of destiny, which may either burst into vitality, or terminate at the end point.

In Trace series, the artist adopts the traditional Chinese line drawing to visualize and depict time. Line art is not only adopted for the purpose of contouring, but is also influenced by emotions, consciousness and incidental factors, thus giving the work complex and changeable characteristics. The artist, by using line drawing, blurs the images and boundaries of the family memory in the old photos. Time after time and line after line, the familiarity in portraits is fleeting away, leaving traces of time, so ephemeral and negligible, like the smoke and cloud in the sky.
