Landscape of Body

Sun Yao’s art book “Landscape of Body” was published in conjunction with his solo exhibition of the same name in Thailand. The book presents a curated of 17 works from the series.

In the book’s preface, Sun writes: “In some sense, the human body, like the flower and the tree, is a substance of nature and exists as an expression of our consciousness. Hence, I painted the human body as natural scenery, substituting the structure of body with mountains, rivers and various substances in the universe. The curve of the body is expressed by absorbing the up-and-down of natural changes.”
