Landscape of Face

Sun Yao’s art book “Landscape of Face” was published in conjunction with his solo exhibition of the same name. The book offers a nuanced exploration of the Sun's vision, featuring 23 carefully selected works from the series.

The book also includes two insightful articles: the preface, titled “The World,” by Sun and a critical essay by curator Duan Jun, titled “Images of Possibilities.” In his essay, Duan observes that “Based on this observation, Sun Yao emphasized the ability of human physicality in controlling conscience, thoughts and desire. Physical body became neither the main part in observing the outside world nor the object being observed but the whole of itself.”
